About Art-Net & DMX Nodes

Ethernet-to-DMX nodes and network processors move lighting control over a network and break it out to DMX where the fixtures actually are. This section includes ChamSys GeNetix nodes such as the GN2 two-port Ethernet-DMX node for Art-Net and sACN consoles, the Transcension N8 Art-Net/DMX node MKII, and Avolites TitanNet hardware: the Titan Net Processor, the rack-mounted D3 Core and the Titan Net Switch for building out Avolites networks.

Start by counting universes and where they need to land. A node’s port count sets how many DMX lines break out at that position, so two small nodes placed near the rig often beat one large node feeding long DMX runs. Check protocol support against your console, as most desks output Art-Net or sACN but not always both, and note that the Avolites Titan Net processors are specific to Titan consoles, where they add processing capacity and outputs rather than acting as generic nodes. Keep the lighting network on its own switch and cabling rather than sharing with audio or video traffic, and choose rackmount or truss-friendly formats based on where the unit will live.

DMX splitters and cabling to finish the distribution layer sit in the neighbouring categories, with trade accounts for regular production buyers.
