About Stage Boxes

Punched metal stage boxes from Penn Elcom, running from compact 6-hole enclosures up to 48-hole boxes for full multicore builds. These are the starting point for custom audio looms: fit your own D-series connectors and tails and you end up with a stage box wired exactly the way your patch actually works, rather than a compromise off the shelf.

Hole count is the main decision, and the right answer is usually more than today’s channel count. A 24-channel patch in a 32-hole box leaves room for returns, comms and the extra inputs that appear at soundcheck. Standard D-series chassis connectors fit the punched cutouts, so one box can mix mic lines, speakON feeds and data as needed, with blanking plates covering spare holes until they earn their keep. Give cable entry the same attention: a proper gland or strain relief on the multicore tail is what keeps a box alive through years of load-ins.

Matching punched rack panels, wall plates and fixings live in the Racks & Wall Plates category for the venue end of the same loom.
