Match the plug to your transmitter before comparing anything else. Then pick a polar pattern: omnidirectional capsules are forgiving of placement and head movement and resist plosives, while cardioid versions reject monitor wash and improve gain before feedback on loud stages at the cost of more careful positioning. Headworn designs hold a constant capsule-to-mouth distance, so they win for active presenters, theatre leads and fitness or worship applications where a lavalier would drift.
