BS 1363 13A connectors for the UK mains end of a rig, led by PCE’s 1020-5s panel-mount socket alongside Elumen8 and ADJ options. The PCE socket is made to BS 1363/A with a sprung lid and a standard 50 x 50mm flange, and is rated IP54 with the lid closed, which makes it a tidy fit for rack faces, wallboxes and distro builds.

The 13A plug’s built-in fuse is its defining feature, so fuse to the appliance and its flex rather than by habit: 3A or 5A protects low-draw kit and thin cable far better than the 13A fuse fitted by default. Anything destined for stage work should have a solid cord grip, since most 13A failures start at the strain relief.
