About Moving Head Lights
Spot, wash, beam and hybrid moving heads for hire stock, venue installs, mobile rigs and touring, drawn from ADJ, Chauvet DJ, Chauvet Professional, Equinox and Elumen8. The range runs from compact units like the Equinox Fusion 50 MKIII and Fusion 120Q quad LED wash up to production fixtures such as the Chauvet Professional Rogue R1X Wash, Rogue R2E Spot and the 400W Equinox Fusion 400 hybrid, with the battery-powered Chauvet DJ Intimidator Free Spot 60 ILS covering positions where power runs are impractical.
Settle the fixture type first. Spots give a hard edge with gobos for texture and aerial work, washes cover area with smooth colour and usually a zoom, beams throw tight columns of light for punchy aerial looks, and hybrids like the Fusion 400 BSW switch between all three at the cost of doing each slightly less well than a dedicated fixture. From there, check output against the ambient light you are fighting, zoom range on washes, and the DMX footprint against your console and universe count. The physical side matters just as much: weight against your truss and clamps, always with a secondary safety bond. For exposed outdoor positions, ADJ’s Hydro Wash X19 is the outdoor-rated option here, and most other fixtures in the section are indoor units, so check the housing spec before an open-air rig.
Stage Supply runs trade accounts and can advise on matching moving heads to consoles, splitters, nodes and rigging from the rest of the catalogue.
