The sE Electronics / Rupert Neve Designs RNT is a flagship tube condenser microphone born from the collaboration between sE Electronics and legendary audio designer Rupert Neve. It features a hand-crafted, gold-sputtered 1-inch true condenser dual-diaphragm capsule with nine selectable polar patterns, and a dual-stage Class-A signal path that combines a hand-selected ECC82 tube with custom Rupert Neve Designs transformers — delivering a level of sonic refinement and flexibility that places it among the finest studio microphones available.
The RNT uses a unique dual-stage Class-A architecture. Stage one, inside the microphone body, is tube-based — built around a hand-selected ECC82 valve with a custom Rupert Neve Designs transformer. Stage two, housed in the external floor box, uses the same op-amp topology found in the Rupert Neve Designs 5088 mixing console, with a second custom transformer. This two-stage approach gives the RNT both the harmonic warmth of a tube front end and the precision and headroom of Neve console electronics.
